Domaine du Sablou, is an enchanting estate with 85 hectares of forest, a magnificent
Manor house, a beautiful chapel, caves, outbuildings, 5 holiday cottages and a swimming
pool. Sablou is located in the departement of the Dordogne in France (near Montignac),
in the region of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the cradle of Occidental European man.
Domaine du Sablou is a charming estate of calm and serenity, but is also full of life.
It is a place of paradise and simplicity where guests, friends and groups can stay in
our cottages accomodating 2 to 45 people.
In our big rooms we are able to welcome up to 250 guests during the day and evening.
A perfect setting for those who feel attracted by silence, music, art, reflection, nature,
personal development, meetings or wedding.
Since 2001, the positive attributes of the Domaine of the Sablou, inspire our team to
share the ambience by offering these facilities to the public.
The region of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine, known for its richness in history and enchanting
aspects, finds these characteristics in the silence of nature, in the caves of Lascaux, in the
various Buddhist monasteries and in the 13th century towers of the Domaine du Sablou.
It is with this in mind that the inspiration for the continuation of the construction of this
estate was accomplished and which today also has a rich history. Its majestic manor house
with beautiful corridors and halls, a magnificent stone staircase surrounded by
outbuildings and a lovely chapel are contributing factors. The residence is surrounded by
a park of hundred-year-old trees and overlooks a peaceful valley that leads to the medieval
village of Fanlac. For adventurers, Domaine du Sablou has an underground tunnel
extending over several hundred meters starting under the Sablou tower, there are also 2
caves prehaps more, others are still waiting to be discovered …
Nature lovers can indulge themselves during their stay in the Dordogne.
There are many horsriding, hiking and cycling routes, the canoe enthusiasts can explore
the region by river. The Dordogne has a good tourist infrastructure with its:
medieval towns such as Sarlat-la-Canéda and Les Eyzies-de-tayac, castles and manor houses,
plenty of markets, local activities and music. The region is full of historical and archaeological
sites such as the famous caves of Lascaux.
